Kugti Pass

Kugti Pass is one of the most beautiful and unexplored treks in the Himachal Pradesh’s district Chamba. Kugti pass is a frequent gateway for the Gaddis to cross over to Lahaul and Spitti valleys. 

  • A difficult climb and slippery path make the trek even more difficult for the purpose of the trekking.

  • For the trek of kugti pass, there must be a good experience of some difficult trekking is required.

  • To reach the kugti pass firstly, we need to reach the Bharmour. 

  • From Bharmour, firstly Hadsar will come by covering 13 km with a beautiful view of dense forest of deodar and pine.

  • A beautiful green meadow, vast expands of apple and peach orchards, splashing view of waterfalls which will amaze your heart defiantly.

  • There is a chance that you will come across shepherds with there flock of sheep’s moving along the terrain.

  • Then from Hadsar, you will reach Kugti village from where the trek begins.

  • As you enter the Duggi valley negotiating narrow trails, boulder strewn moraines and crossing water streams.

  • Sight of hanging glaciers, lofty mountain peaks, cascading rivers and lush meadows take your breath away for few moments.

  • Duggi valley is a grassland which is perfect for camping.

  •  Further, as you move towards your destination, vast meadows carpeted with colorful flowers and sparkling rivulets will blow your mind.

  • Vast expanses of snow fields greet you on the way finally leading to the kugti pass.

  • A small shrine with numerous prayer flags, bells and trishuls await you here.

  • From the pass, the breath-taking views of the arid and barren mountains of the Lahaul valley, the Mani Mahesh Kailash peak and Grechu Pass captivate your hearts and souls.

  • After spending some time at the pass, you start for your descent finally ending the trek at Manali. 

  • Best time to visit Kugti Pass is from mid-June to mid-October.
